MATTAPOISETT - Superintendent Michael S. Nelson, Mattapoisett Town Administrator Michael C. Lorenco and Mattapoisett Board of Health Chair Carmelo Nicolosi report that the Old Rochester Regional School District and Mattapoisett Elementary School District were informed of one positive case of COVID-19 at Center School in Mattapoisett on Dec. 24.
This individual has tested positive for the virus and is self-isolating in accordance with Massachusetts Department of Public Health and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention protocol. This individual was last in the school building on Dec. 22. Under state and federal health privacy laws, no further information is available about the individual.

PLYMOUTH – In January, Zoning Board of Appeals member Michael “Buster” Main and his wife, former Conservation Commission Chairman Gerry Hooker, known affectionately as Sweetpea, recounted how Pinehills Managing Partner Tony Green took the high road and responded to criticism of a lack of affordable housing with a wonderful offer. Ten years ago, they said Green and Pinehills President John Judge asked if Main would get involved in The Pinehills LLC trust dedicated to providing funding for affordable housing. Saugus school officials discuss enforcement of state-mandated flu shot

The school district is surveying caregivers to find out which students have received a state-mandated flu shot in advance of 2021.
Over the summer, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health announced that an influenza immunization will be required for all children 6 months of age or older who are attending daycare facilities, preschools, public schools and colleges in the state.
Students are expected to have received a flu vaccine by Dec. 31, 2020 – unless a medical or religious exemption is provided.
Homeschooled students are also exempt from the flu immunization requirement, but elementary and secondary students in school districts that are using a remote education model aren’t exempt, according to MassDPH.
