Updated: 5:04 PM EDT May 25, 2021 The Massachusetts Department of Public Health reported an additional 195 confirmed COVID-19 cases Tuesday, bringing the statewide total to 659,916 since the start of the pandemic. State health officials also added 10 confirmed COVID-19-related deaths to the state s total, which is now 17,475. So far, about 8.89 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been shipped to Massachusetts, of which about 7.58 million, or 85.2%, have been administered.About 3.48 million people in Massachusetts are fully vaccinated, which represents about 49.5% of the state s total population, including those who are not yet eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine.An estimated 9,034 cases are active across Massachusetts, according to the report. Health officials said the total number of confirmed cases in the state is now 659,916. The total number of confirmed deaths is now 17,475. There were 30,530 total new tests reported. As of Tuesday, the seven-day weighted average of positive tests in Massachusetts is 0.93%. There are 248 people currently hospitalized for a coronavirus-related illness Tuesday.
