The Massachusetts Department of Transportation expects all travel lanes on Interstate 93 south near Exit 24 in Medford to be fully reopened at some point on Wednesday, two days after an over-height truck struck the bridge.
In an update sent Tuesday evening, transportation officials said that all lanes on I-93 south will be reopened after temporary repairs are made to the damaged area of the eastbound Roosevelt Circle overpass, which also needs to be stabilized. Sign up for our Newsletters
MassDOT also noted that the eastbound Roosevelt Circle overpass will also be reopened at some point Wednesday. Roosevelt Circle, which is part of Route 28, will be restored to two travel lanes with some lane restrictions until full, permanent repairs are made. Those permanent repairs are expected to take several months.
