Massachusetts tells employers to ‘hold off’ on vaccine clinics for workers

The Baker administration has suspended a program that would allow Massachusetts businesses to vaccinate their workers on-site for Covid-19, citing supply constraints.
The Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services issued a memorandum instructing the business community to “hold off on efforts to set up employer-based vaccination clinics.” Administration officials had previously encouraged businesses to begin making plans to vaccinate their own employees.
“At this time, we do not receive sufficient vaccine supply from the Federal Government to support an employer-based vaccine program,” the agency said.

The Eunice Kennedy Shriver Center at UMass Medical School has helped launch a new program that helps families experiencing psychiatric emergencies as confinement at home and loss of outside supports during the COVID-19 pandemic have exacerbated behavioral health crises among youth. The Massachusetts Child Psychiatry Access Program for Autism Spectrum Disorder and Intellectual Disabilities or MCPAP for ASD-ID was launched in partnership with the Massachusetts Behavioral Health Partnership with funding from the Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services.
Massachusetts makes 35,000 more COVID vaccine appointments available Thursday

Tens of thousands of COVID vaccine appointments were opened a day after 10,000 appointments in Springfield and Danvers were filled within hours on Wednesday.
The Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services announced that another 15,000 appointments were made available in Springfield and Danvers on Thursday. Another 20,000 appointments were made available at Gillette Stadium and Fenway Park Thursday morning.
CVS Health will also be posting 1,152 new appointments daily across their 8 sites, for a total of 8,000 per week, according to the state.
“In total, over 35,000 new appointments are live over the course of the day for appointments in the next 7 days,” the state said.
