BROCKTON A pair of white flip flops, a black knit hat and other personal belongings each item outlined by orange spray paint were left in the middle of Centre Street early Friday morning.
The items were left behind at the scene of a pedestrian crash that left a woman critically injured late Thursday night.
The crash occurred about 11:19 p.m. Thursday on Centre Street, across the street from East Middle School and the Centre Plaza that houses Luanda Restaurant & Lounge and the East Side Package Store.
First responders say they found a 39-year-old Charlestown woman suffering from serious injuries.
Police say she jumped into ongoing traffic on Centre Street near Empire Avenue.

A 37-year-old man was airlifted to a Boston hospital for treatment of serious injuries and a 60-year-old Salisbury woman has been charged with drunken driving in connection with the incident just before 5, this afternoon.
According to Haverhill Police, an unidentified motorcyclist and a pickup truck driven by Martha Iannazzo, collided on the onramp from River Street, Routes 110/113, northbound onramp to I-495. Haverhill Police and Fire and Trinity EMS provided emergency aid. The motorcyclist was taken to nearby Westgate Center for to be MedFlighted to Boston, according to a statement from Interim Capt. Meaghan J. Paré.
64-year-old man killed in ATV crash in Massachusetts

An ATV crash in Massachusetts late Thursday claimed the life of a 64-year-old man, authorities said.
Officers in Melrose were sent around 11 p.m. to the scene of a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of Upham Street and Wildwood Road, according to a statement from Police Chief Michael Lyle and Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan’s office.
The man who was driving the ATV was found seriously injured. He was taken to MelroseWakefield Hospital, where he died from his wounds. His name has yet to be released to public, pending notification of next of kin, the statement said.
Woman killed in Ayer two-vehicle crash

A woman was killed and a truck driver injured when their vehicles collided on Littleton Road, Route 2A, in Ayer Friday morning.
The Middlesex District Attorney’s Office said in a press release that Ayer police responded to 911 calls reporting a two-vehicle crash near Snake Hill Road at about 6 a.m. Friday morning.
First responding officers found the female driver of a car dead at the scene and the driver of a box truck injured. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
Authorities said the incident remains under investigation by Ayer police, State Police detectives attached to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office and members of the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.
