Dunne As police chiefs representing the memberships of the Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Association and the Massachusetts Major City Police Chiefs Association, we stand united and take this opportunity to express our utter displeasure, absolute outrage and quite frankly our sheer disappointment with an apparent cartoon that appeared in the April 15 edition of the Cape Cod Times. This incredibly offensive and damaging caricature, titled the “Game of Life or Death” created by Mike Thompson of the USA Today Network, depicts police stopping a white motorist and sending them on their way, while a black motorist would be pulled from the vehicle at gun point and ending the stop with the loss of their life.
