Praise and accolades have come in the wake of the news that former Bourne selectwoman Linda M. Zuern has died. Friends and colleagues have been quick to note the many contributions in public service Ms. Zuern gave to her adopted town as well as the overall Cape Cod community.
Ms. Zuern had been hospitalized in Boston after she contracted the COVID-19 coronavirus. She was placed in a medically induced coma but did not recover from complications of the illness. She was pronounced dead last Friday, July 16.
Bourne Board of Selectmen chairman Peter J. Meier was a colleague of Ms. Zuernâs on the board. Mr. Meier noted Ms. Zuernâs care for the Town of Bourne and the entire Cape Cod region. He said she was âvery active in her church, too, so faith was very important to her.â
