Another six-week wait for ‘no case submission’ decision in Bruce Greenaway murder case
As courts on island continue to hear only new matters, the public will have to wait another six weeks to find out whether there is a case against the four people accused of Bruce Greenaway’s murder.
Yesterday, Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel-Edwards was due to hand down her decision based on written no case submissions she had received from both the prosecution and defence attorneys.
However, her decision had to be put off until April 12.
In December 2020, the three lawyers representing the four law enforcement officials accused of murdering the Falmouth father-of-two decided to join forces to submit the application indicating why they think the murder case should be thrown out.

“A good day for justice”, remarked defence attorney Andrew O’Kola who commended the actions of Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel-Edwards in upholding an order she issued last month.
That specific order was for the prosecution to make key information available to the defence representing the four accused in the Bruce Greenaway murder case.
During yesterday’s hearing in the All Saints Magistrate’s Court, Emanuel-Edwards noted that the prosecution had initially expressed no objections, last month, to the defence’s request for access to some police station diaries – which record the movement of on-duty officers – dated in and around the time Greenaway was reported missing.

On February 24 next year, Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel-Edwards will decide whether to accept a ‘no case’ submission that will be made by the defence team in the Bruce Greenaway murder case.
The four individuals accused of the murder, Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force officers Aliyah Martin, Armal Warner and Shakiel Thomas, along with Jason Modeste of the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda – appeared in the All Saints Magistrate’s Court yesterday for a committal hearing. They were accompanied by defense attorney Andrew O’Kola, who represents two of the four accused.
