Prosecution withdraws appeal, RM10,000 fine on road bully upheld

PUTRAJAYA (Bernama): The Court of Appeal has upheld a RM10,000 fine imposed by the High Court on a road bully known as Abang Botak after the prosecution withdrew its appeal over the sentence. The prosecution had appealed against the RM10,000 fine meted out by the High Court against Danial Abdullah Tan, 33, who was initially sentenced to 12 years jail for the offence by the Petaling Jaya Magistrate s Court. A panel of three judges, led by Judge Datuk Abdul Karim Abdul Jalil, dismissed the prosecution s appeal on Friday (Jan 8) after deputy public prosecutor Faizah Mohd Salleh informed the court that the prosecution had filed a notice to withdraw the appeal on Nov 17 last year.
