EDWARDSVILLE A motorcyclist is claiming negligence after he drove into a pothole at a Days Inn in Pontoon Beach, fell off his bike and suffered multiple injuries.
Kevin Jordan filed a complaint April 14 in Madison County Circuit Court against Shyamji Corp doing business as Days Inn and Village of Pontoon Beach, Illinois alleging negligence.
According to Jordan s complaint, he was driving his motorcycle on the Days Inn hotel property on Chouteau Trace Parkway in Pontoon Beach on April 20, 2020. He alleges that he drove into a ditch or pothole on the roadway, fell and suffered a clavicle fracture and multiple fractures in his foot and required operative treatment.
Rob Dorman and Doug Hulme have
filed a lawsuit in Madison County Circuit Court naming the Cities of Edwardsville, Alton, Granite City, and Collinsville as Defendants for their part in the Madison County Public Corruption Task Force as
respondeat superior ( let the master answer , or, the employer is responsible for the employee).
Plaintiffs are seeking damages in excess of $100,000.00.

At all relevant times herein, the plaintiffs and each of them had a valid and enforceable employment contract with Madison County, Illinois, an Illinois municipal corporation.
The conduct complained of herein was committed by Madison County deputy sheriffs who were members of a public corruption task force which was made up of sheriff’s deputies employed by Madison County but who also were agents and employees of the defendants herein, each of which contributed to their pay and in part directed their conduct and therefore Defendants are legally responsible for the conduct

EDWARDSVILLE Ally Bank claims a woman defaulted on a car loan for a Chevrolet Silverado and is suing for surrender of the vehicle.
Ally Bank filed a complaint April 5 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Luxe Holdings Group Inc., William Lindsey, IV and Cyndy Taylor Coca, alleging breach of contract.
According to Ally Bank s complaint, Luxe Holdings entered into a retail installment sale contract for a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado with Coca on April 15, 2020, which was then assigned to Ally Bank. It alleges the defendants have failed to comply with the demand for payment and have failed to surrender the vehicle.

CANTON, Miss. (AP) A Mississippi man faces up to life in prison after he pleaded guilty to one count of capital murder in the death of a pizza delivery woman and one count of attempted murder in the shooting of a convenience store employee.
An April 19 sentencing hearing is set for 27-year-old Terrance J. Caldwell, WLBT-TV reported.
Madison County Circuit Court records show Caldwell pleaded guilty to the two charges April 5.
The capital murder charge was for the killing of 31-year-old Helerica “Latrice” Dortch.
Dortch was a Domino’s employee who went missing four days before her body was found in Madison County on Dec. 17, 2019. A coroner said she died of a single gunshot wound.
