DARIEN Darien High School Senior Rhea Bhat has been elected for the second year to SADD ‘s (Students Against Destructive Decisions) National Student Leadership Council.
The Student Leadership Council consists of six to eight students, and membership is highly competitive and work to further the mission of SADD. Through participation in the SLC, selected students grow and strengthen their leadership skills and gain significant travel, training, leadership, and public speaking opportunities. ALBANY, N.Y. â The Governor s Traffic Safety Committee (GTSC) and the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) announced the upcoming 2021 âNo Empty Chairâ campaign, which will run from Monday, April 19 through Friday, April 23.
The teen driving safety education and enforcement campaign raises awareness of highway dangers in the hope there will be no empty chairs during prom and graduation season.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, motor vehicle crashes are the second leading cause of death for U.S. teens. Furthermore, motor vehicle crashes are higher among teens aged 16â19 than any other age group. Per mile driven, teen drivers in this age group are nearly three times as likely to be in a fatal crash as drivers aged 20 or older.
HANNIBAL - Hannibal High School student Emma Wood is making the most of her senior year, as she was recently selected to participate in two one-in-a-lifetime opportunities with different organizations.
Youth Profile: Perry’s Plaugher balances nursing interest with high school, college classes

PERRY TOWNSHIP Annabell Plaugher spent her final year of high school working as a nursing assistant in a Lima nursing home, balancing a busy schedule of college classes, athletics and volunteer activities with two part-time jobs, all while the coronavirus pandemic unfolded.
Through it all, the Perry High School senior has maintained a 3.5 grade-point average and a deeper appreciation for her future career as a nurse.
“I was always driven to that profession,” Plaugher said.
Plaugher was inspired to pursue nursing by her grandmother and her aunt, both nurses who were “strong, powerful” women in Plaugher’s life.
