HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WDAM) â University of Southern Mississippi senior forward Ariel Diaz named Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Feb. 13.
It marked the first time Diaz had been accorded a weekly honor by the conference and she became the first Lady Eagle to earn the weekly recognition this season.

McCormick joins wide receiver Jaelon Darden of North Texas, D’Eriq King of Miami (Fla.), Kellen Mond of Texas A&M and Kyle Trask (Florida) on the list of finalists for the award, which recognizes the top offensive player in college football with ties to the state of Texas. The winner will be announced at a virtual award banquet in Tyler in late January 2021. He is the first Roadrunner to land on the award’s finalist list
Announced in 2012 by the Tyler Chamber and SPORTyler, the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award recognizes the top offensive player in Division I football who also exhibits the enduring characteristics that define Earl Campbell: integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive, community and tenacity; specifically, tenacity to persist and determination to overcome adversity and injury in pursuit of reaching goals.
