Bengaluru municipal body detects two Covid-19 clusters in the city

Two clusters of COVID-19 infection were found in the Bommanahalli zone of Bengaluru, said N Manjunath Prasad, Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Commissioner on Tuesday. The first cluster was found at Manjushree Nursing College near Kaval Byrasandra in the city, where 210 students are studying. Most of them are from Kerala. Out of 210, 40 people were found infected with COVID-19, said Palike. He added that another cluster of 103 people was found at the SNN Raj Lakeview apartment in Bommanahalli. They had arranged a social program in the apartment complex. After the program when they took the COVID-19 test and many were found positive for Coronavirus infection. Total 1,052 persons live in the apartment, out of which 103 persons tested positive and 96 persons out of 103 infected are above the age of 60, Prasad stated.

Ministry of Finance Says 15 States Complete Ease Of Doing Business Reforms

The Finance Ministry noted today that the number of States successfully completing the Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) reforms has increased to 15. Three more States namely, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand have reported completion of Ease of Doing Business reforms stipulated by the Department of Expenditure. On receipt of recommendation from the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), the Department of Expenditure has granted permission to these three States to raise additional financial resources of Rs. 9,905 crore through Open Market Borrowings. Earlier, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and Telangana had also reported completion of this reform, which was confirmed by DPIIT. On completion of reforms facilitating ease of doing business, these 15 States have been granted additional borrowing permission of Rs. 38,088 crore.

Maharashtra: Police decipher suicidal posts on social media, save two lives

The cybercrime wing of the Mumbai Police has saved the lives of two persons, who posted suicidal thoughts on social media, an official said on Wednesday. The cyber police s Twitter analysis cell examined a tweet by a Class 12 student, who posted about feeling depressed and suicidal over his studies on February 14, the official said. A probe revealed that the person was a resident of Amaravati city, and accordingly, the police there were informed about the tweet, he said. A team was formed to locate the student, who was subsequently tracked down and sent for counselling, he said. Similarly, the cyber police analysed a Facebook post in which a man wrote about his suicidal thoughts on Tuesday night, the official said.
