Region of Waterloo Public Health reported 93 new COVID-19 cases on its dashboard Friday afternoon, although three are linked to revisions to previous counts.
It s the largest one-day increase locally to date.
This brings the new total up to 4,329 cases for the region since March.
The number of active cases has increased to 426 from 382 since Thursday.

3,769 resolved cases (87 per cent).
There have been 131 deaths in the region linked to the virus. The latest was confirmed on December 10.
34 cases are currently hospitalized (14 in ICU).

Of the 93 new cases in Waterloo region, 26 are at a long term care home in Cambridge. The region is also reporting 426 active cases with 34 people in hospital and 14 of those people in the intensive care unit.
