Even though variants of the virus are hitting some areas in Iowa, such as the Iowa City school district that had hundreds forced to isolate, Schulte says the positivity rates have remained pretty stable in Carroll County. Block says they take ownership of making sure their community is vaccinated and as long as they get the vaccine, they will see that this is done. However, they do feel a little helpless because of the low number of doses being shipped to the rural area. At MRHC and in the entire region, the issue is not about having enough people to administer the vaccine, there are plenty available.
