Fennimore Teen Crashes Into Tractor

A Fennimore teen was injured after crashing into a tractor Thursday in Mount Ida Township. According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, 19-year-old Jacob Osborne was was driving on Mount Ridge Road around 8:30 a.m. Authorities say the windows on Osborne’s vehicle were frosted over and he couldn’t see a tractor traveling toward him. Osborne hit the front, left tire on the tractor, causing both vehicles to become disabled in the middle of the road. Osborne, who wasn’t wearing a seat belt, struck his head on the windshield. He was taken to Grant Regional Health Center for treatment. The tractor’s driver, 31-year-old Kendrick Henkel of Fennimore, did not report any injuries. Both vehicles had to be removed from the scene. Osborne was cited for failure to wear a seat belt and not having his windows reasonably clean.

Vaccines are rolling out

Vaccines are rolling out Dr. Erin Huebschman and Dr. Kim Perttu were the first two individuals to receive the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine Monday at Grant Regional. There were 103 individuals who received the first dose of the vaccine, with a second dose coming in 28 days. There are still area frontline workers who have yet to get a dose due to limited supply. By David Timmerman newseditor@tds.net As the calendar is about to turn, so to may be the page turning on the COVID-19 pandemic, as the first batches of the coronavirus vaccine are rolling into southwest Wisconsin. Grant Regional Health Center received its first shipment of Moderna vaccine Monday morning, and began immunizing 103 frontline staff during the mornings at the start of the week.
