(South Windsor Police Department) SOUTH WINDSOR, CT A truck driver from California was arrested Wednesday night after an altercation at a Sullivan Avenue auto parts warehouse, during which he is accused of punching another man and attacking him with wooden nunchucks, according to police. Maximum Elbey, 34, of Sun Valley, Calif., was charged with illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle, carrying a dangerous weapon, second-degree breach of peace, second-degree assault and third-degree assault. He was held overnight in lieu of $75,000 bond, and was slated to appear Thursday in Manchester Superior Court.

Bushey’s charges stem from a March investigation in which the police department located several undelivered packages with Somers, Connecticut addresses on them in a dumpster at the South Windsor Volunteer Fire Department Company,  said South Windsor Police Sergeant Mark Cleverdon. It was determined that Bushey was subcontracted by FedEx to deliver the packages and failed to do so, he said.

Delivery Driver Accused Of Throwing Away Packages, 6-Year-Old s Medication

Mark Cleverdon confirmed to the Daily Voice. Police determined that Bushey was subcontracted by FedEx and responsible for delivering the packages found, which included the supply of medicine for the 6-year-old child. Bushey was taken into custody and processed by officers before being released on a $50,000 surety bond. The 23-year-old Hartford County resident is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on Wednesday, June 9. A similar incident occurred in Chicago in December 2020 when 19 undelivered USPS were found in a garbage can in the South Side section of the city.
