Manchester Township Police have added depth to their department with the hiring of two recruits and the promotion of two officers.
Chief Lisa Parker has announced in a statement, the promotion of Sgt. Albert Vega to Lieutenant and Ptl. Ian Bole to Sergeant as well as the hiring of Ptl. Brendan Brush and Special Law Enforcement Officer Class II Sage Sysol.
Manchester Mayor Ken Palmer administered their oaths of office during a closed ceremony due to COVID-19 precautions, earlier this month.
Lt. Vega has been with the Department since 2003 and had previously served in the MTPD Investigations Bureau as a Detective and later Detective-Sergeant where he led the Narcotics Enforcement Team.
3 Chester County men arrested in York County Drug Task Force bust

YORK, Pa. The York County Drug Task Force on Wednesday announced the arrests of three Chester County man for drug distribution offenses last week.
Christopher Cerrato, 20, Jesus Aguilar-Ledesma, 18, and Justin Mendenhall, 28, were taken into custody on Jan. 14, the Task Force said.
An investigator developed information that the three men would be traveling from Chester County to meet another person at a business in York County to conduct a drug transaction, the Task Force said.

His election was certified by the state but is being contested by Republican challenger Nicole Ziccarelli. The fight followed weeks of President Donald Trump challenging President-elect Joe Biden’s victory in Pennsylvania with baseless allegations of fraud and lawsuits that have repeatedly lost in the courts.

Police: Man, 62, dies after off-road vehicle drives into lake in Ocean County

MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP, N.J. - Authorities in Ocean County say a 62-year-old man is dead after the utility terrain vehicle he was riding in drove into a lake and became submerged in 25-feet of water Saturday night.
Officers from the Manchester Township Police Department were called to Heritage Minerals Mine on Route 70 around 8:30 p.m. for reports of an accident. A group told officers they were riding off-road vehicles on the property when one of the vehicles drove into a lake.
One of the passengers, identified by police as James Grover, did not resurface. Emergency rescue divers found Grover strapped into the vehicle 25-feet below the surface. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
