Front Office Sports reports “The impasse in contract negotiations between Super Bowl broadcaster Jim Nantz and CBS Sports is attracting the attention of a big possible bidder: ESPN. If Nantz hits free agency this summer, ESPN is interested in possibly making him the face of its NFL and Masters golf coverage, said sources. With ESPN parent Walt Disney Co. poised to land one — if not two — NFL TV packages, Nantz could be on the mic as ABC/ESPN broadcast future Super Bowls.”

Nearly four years ago, Julia Foster was listening to her 6-year-old son slowly sound out words in his earliest efforts to learn how to read. As she heard her child becoming more fluent, the linguist, who speaks and reads five languages, recognized the power he was giving himself.
Right before her ears, her son’s world was opening up through reading. It was the moment she knew she would accept her new position as executive director for the Foundation for Monterey County Free Libraries.
