ST. MARYS The Joint Township District Hospital Foundation was a recipient of 25 hand-sewn blankets for the Grand Lake Birthing Center, donated by Megan and Thomas Leidy. Megan and Thomas gifted the foundation with the blankets in honor of their son Carter, who was born still at 34 weeks on June 25, 2019. Megan said it was through their loss, and the caring support of others, that they knew that they wanted to do something to keep Carter’s memory alive and help other parents experiencing this type of loss.

CELINA A community health fair will be from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, at Auglaize Mercer Family YMCA, state Route 703, Celina. The fair, in partnership with Grand Lake Health System, will offer a variety of free health screenings as well as low-cost screenings for specific conditions. The most expensive of those are PSA or thyroid screenings for $40. Fasting is required for some of the tests.
