But he is already running into problems over who owns the river. “I just want a solution for thousands of people who are dying,” he said. Cataraqui Conservation Chair Alan Revill Named to Board of Conservation Ontario
Kingston – At its recent virtual annual general meeting, Conservation Ontario announced the leadership team of the organization who will comprise the Board of Directors for the current term. Amongst the six appointees was Alan Revill, Chair of Cataraqui Conservation.
Revill was renewed to the Vice-Chair position and is joined once again by fellow Vice-Chair Lin Gibson of Conservation Sudbury, working closely with chair Andy Mitchell of Otonabee Conservation. The three other directors of the current Board are Linda Laliberte, General Manager of the Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority, Samantha Lawson, General Manager of the Grand River Conservation Authority and Deborah Martin-Downs, General Manager of Credit Valley Conservation.

Overnight stays in Ontario Parks are being halted to support the province’s current emergency shutdown and stay-at-home order.
The cancellations include all campground and backcountry campsites, cabins, yurts and cottages said a spokesperson for the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks.

Area parks under the ministry’s jurisdiction include Long Point, Port Burwell, Selkirk and Turkey Point.
The Long Point Region Conservation Authority says seasonal camping will begin as planned on May 1 but nightly camping and day-use access to LPRCA campgrounds is prohibited while the provincial emergency and stay-at-home order is in effect. KITCHENER The Grand River Conservation Authority will open its parks for day use early this year. In a release, the GRCA said all parks, expect for Elora Quarry, will open on April 23. They were originally scheduled to open on May 1. Overnight and seasonal camping is suspended under Ontario s stay-at-home order. Last week, the province extended that order for two more weeks, until at least May 20. Guests who booked overnight camping spots during those dates will automatically receive a refund. Anyone with seasonal campsites will be contacted by the GRCA directly. All parks continue to operate at reduced capacity during the COVID-19 pandemic. Some washroom facilities are open, but picnic tables, boat rentals and food concessions are closed.
