Former Grand Rapids mayor appointed to Ferris State University Board of Trustees

LANSING, Mich. â Former Grand Rapids Mayor George Heartwell has been appointed by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer to Ferris State Universityâs Board of Trustees, a news release said Monday.
Heartwell currently serves as a member of the Great Lakes Water Quality Board, Muskegon River Watershed Assembly, Newaygo Economic Development Corporation, Environmental Law and Policy Center Michigan Board and the Zoning Board of Appeals for the City of Newaygo and for Garfield Township.
His term will begin Jan. 1 and lasts until Dec. 31, 2028.
