Two Vista residents were killed in a plane crash during a flight across Arizona, authorities said Monday.
Authorities had launched a search for Timothy Michael Gill, 37, and Joylani Roseann Kamalu, 38, after deputies in Arizona’s Coconino County received a report of an overdue plane about 6 p.m. Sunday. A family member said they had not reported to work earlier in the day, according to the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office.
The pair had departed from the Sedona Airport and headed for the Grand Canyon Airport for an appointment in the area, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities launched a search, calling in state and U.S. Air Force resources. The Air Force, which was asked to determine the last known direction and location of the aircraft, directed searchers to an area northeast of H.A. Clark Memorial Field airport in Williams, Ariz.

ARIZONA, USA A man and a woman from Vista were on board a small plane that crashed in a wooded area near the Williams Airport, which is located west of Flagstaff, Arizona, according to the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office.
A family member of one of the occupants indicated that the missing parties had not reported for work as scheduled on Sunday. And, deputies from the Coconino County Sheriff’s Williams Sub-Station received a report of an overdue aircraft from Vista.

The occupants were reported missing on Sunday and the downed aircraft was located just before 2 a.m. on Monday morning in a wooded area near an airport.
