UNDATED (WHTC-AM/FM) – Voters will be asked to go to the polls in several Ottawa & Allegan County communities today (May 4, 2021).
Ballot proposals will be before electors living in the Holland, West Ottawa, Zeeland, Hudsonville and Grand Haven school districts, as well as among those living in the border school districts of Fruitport and Ravenna. There are separate bond issues of $74.6 million in Holland and $75 million in Zeeland, as well as $8 million in Fruitport, and two requests totaling $17.1 million in Ravenna; Grand Haven, Hudsonville, West Ottawa and Zeeland have 18-mill non-homestead tax renewal proposals.
3-vehicle crash in Grand Haven Township injures two drivers

GRAND HAVEN TWP. Two drivers suffered injuries in a three-vehicle crash late Thursday on US-31.
Deputies with the Ottawa County Sheriff s Office responded at 9:15 p.m. Thursday, April 22, to the intersection of US-31 and Comstock Street.
The preliminary investigation determined a 2006 Ford F-250 driven by a 19-year-old Spring Lake man was stopped in the left-turn lane on southbound US-31, attempting to head east on Comstock Street.
A 2018 BMW driven by a 77-year-old Spring Lake woman was also southbound on US-31 and stopped in the left-turn lane, preparing to turn east on Comstock Street.
Fennville woman dies from injuries in Friday crash

The Muskegon County Medical Examiners Office informed police the woman died Saturday, April 10.
The crash happened on US-31 near Hayes Street just after 6 a.m. Friday, April 9.
Police say a 19-year-old Covert man traveling northbound on US-31 rear-ended the woman s vehicle, which was stopped at a red light.
The woman was transported to Mercy Health Muskegon in critical condition.
The Covert man and passenger in his vehicle, a 40-year-old South Haven man, were treated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
Fennville woman in critical condition after two-car crash

GRAND HAVEN TWP. A 57-year-old Fennville woman is in critical condition following a two-vehicle crash in Grand Haven Township early Friday.
The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene on US-31 near Hayes Street just after 6 a.m. Friday, April 9.
Police say a 19-year-old Covert man traveling northbound on US-31 rear-ended a vehicle, which was stopped at a red light, driven by the Fennville woman.
The woman was transported to Mercy Health Muskegon and is in critical condition. The Covert man and passenger in his vehicle, a 40-year-old South Haven man, were treated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries.
