Grand Forks police are investigating a stabbing incident near West Elementary School. When officers arrived on scene around 4:30 p.m. the male middle school age student was in University Park and had sustained at least one stab wound. The victim said another known male had stabbed him.
The victim was transported to Altru by ambulance The suspect was located at a nearby residence and is also a juvenile.
The investigation is continuing and there is no threat to the public.

Jahner said Walz s office has confirmed that it received his letter, but Walz has not responded to the request. Walz s office did not return a message left by The Forum seeking comment for this story.
Last year, the Minnesota Legislature updated its state law to require officers to apply a three-pronged test to determine whether they can use deadly force against a subject.
Some North Dakota agencies, including the Cass County Sheriff’s Office and police departments from Fargo and West Fargo, have halted aid to Minnesota agencies, including the Moorhead Police Department. They say the new legislation is open to interpretation by law enforcement and goes beyond what North Dakota officers have trained for based on federal case law.
