In total, the team has 30 games scheduled for the season.
The Griffins first home game will be held on Saturday, Feb. 20 at 4 p.m. against the Cleveland Monsters. The last time the Griffins played a home game at Van Andel Arena was March 11, 2020.
The Griffins are scheduled to play nine of their final twelve games at Van Andel Arena.
Grand Rapids’ schedule will be comprised entirely of Central Division rivals. They ll be playing ten games against Chicago, eight against both Cleveland and the Rockford IceHogs, and four against the Iowa Wild.
The Griffins will start their training camp on Sunday, Jan. 31 at Van Andel Arena.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Grand Rapids Griffins on Friday announced their schedule for the 2020-21 American Hockey League season. It will mark the franchise’s 25th campaign overall, 20th as members of the AHL and 19th as the primary affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings.
Under third-year head coach
Ben Simon, the Griffins will begin their 30-game schedule on the road on Friday, Feb. 5 against the Chicago Wolves at 8 p.m. EST, kicking off a four-game road stretch that is the Griffins’ second-longest ever to start a season (five straight in 2009-10).

Change-Ups: Mendez joins GR Chamber as talent development manager
Monica Mendez is the Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce’s new talent development manager. She is responsible for overseeing Leading Edge, Leadership Advantage, and expanding upon ATHENA Grand Rapids programming, as well as providing support to chamber members. An immigrant from Mexico, Mendez came to the United States 20 years ago. She spent the first 15 years of her career as a business professional in a variety of different sales roles, but the magna cum laude graduate from Eastern Michigan University with a degree in International Business said she always felt drawn to other causes related to creating positive change within the community.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Grand Rapids Griffins signed defenseman Donovan Sebrango to an amateur tryout Wednesday.
Sebrango, 19, was a third-round selection (63rd overall) of the Detroit Red Wings in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. The 6-1, 190-pound native of Ottawa, Ontario, spent the past two seasons with the Kitchener Rangers of the Ontario Hockey League, posting 30 points (6-24 30) and 33 penalty minutes in 56 games last season after compiling 26 points (7-19-26) and 54 PIM in 62 games during the 2018-19 campaign.
Sebrango, the son of former Cuban soccer pro Eduardo Sebrango, has played four games this season with HK Levice in Slovakia, totaling two points (1-1 2).
