Ty Garbin, one of the 14 arrested last fall in connection with a plot to kidnap and likely execute Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, is the first to plead guilty to the various charges, and promises to testify against the other members of the gang.
Ty Garbin (File photo) It all happened in federal court in Grand Rapids Wednesday, where Garbin, 25, admitted to various actions in support of the kidnap scheme. Specifically, Garbin admitted that he cased Whitmer s vacation home in preparation for the kidnapping, attended training exercises and brought night binoculars to one practice exercise.
