The move is being seen as the TMCâs attempt to pre-empt BJPâs plan to polarise the state on communal lines.

Kolkata: The recently released report of Mamata Banerjeeâs Trinamool Congress (TMC) of its past 10 yearsâ rule has one conspicuous absence â figures on minority development.
The report card detailed how under the TMC regime, budgets increased two-three times on women and childrenâs welfare, health, agriculture and education sectors. The report also highlighted the governmentâs work for the Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Caste communities. But it made no mention of what the government did for the minority community.

The only other pan-India party, the Congress, is in internal tumult. Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress is eroding, cornered and in violent panic in West Bengal. K Chandrashekar Rao’s citadel Telangana has been shaken lately. In Bihar, Tejashwi Yadav fought bravely but lost. And Maharashtra is being held precariously by an ideologically incoherent coalition.

The centre has summoned Bengal s top police and administrative officers over Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar s report to Home Minister Amit Shah detailing deteriorating law and order in the state after an attack on party chief JP Nadda s convoy on Thursday. The Home Ministry has summoned the state s Chief Secretary and police chief on Monday.
Bengal Chief Secretary and Director General of Police have been summoned on December 14 for a meeting with the Union Home Secretary to discuss the law and order situation.including the recent attacks on Z-category protectees , according to a home ministry letter.
