It may be noted, that the West Bengal Assembly Elections 2021 are expected to be held in April-May next year. The Kolkata Municipal Corporation elections were due in April 2020, however, due to the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown restrictions, the polls were deferred by the Banerjee government. It may be noted that though several elections have been held across several states, there has no word by the Bengal government on holding of the pending local polls.
