BJP West Bengal president Dilip Ghosh has accused political strategist Prashant Kishor and his team of threatening his party’s leaders to join the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress in the state.

Kolkata: Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress government has agreed to conduct local body elections, including Kolkata Municipal Corporation Election in March 2021. It may be noted, that the West Bengal Assembly Elections 2021 are expected to be held in April-May next year.
The Kolkata Municipal Corporation elections were due in April 2020, however, due to the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown restrictions, the polls were deferred by the Banerjee government. It may be noted that though several elections have been held across several states, there has no word by the Bengal government on holding of the pending local polls.

New Delhi: Top leaders of several regional parties have begun talks on forming a national opposition platform for political and electoral mobilisation against the Centre and the BJP with an eye on the next general elections, it is learnt. The move comes even as the Congress leadership vacillates and struggles to put its own house in order since the 2019 Lok Sabha rout.

Kolkata: A Border Security Force (BSF) jawan was allegedly thrashed by Trinamool Congress workers in Murshidabad area of West Bengal. The BSF personnel was reportedly beaten on December 11 when the alleged TMC workers were taking part in party’s procession in Kandi area of Murshidabad.
The BSF jawan has been identified as Biswajit Sahani. The BSF jawan s family has registered a complaint at the Kandi Police Station. It has been alleged that the ruling party workers also branded the person as insane.
