FARGO North Dakota State University President Dean Bresciani has been censured by teaching staff for picking an administrator to fill his No. 2 spot even though she didn’t go through the hiring process that attracted more than 100 candidates.
In a 21-13 vote, the Faculty Senate passed the resolution Monday, Feb. 8, that condemned Bresciani’s move to appoint Margaret Fitzgerald as the university’s provost in October. Four members abstained.

Ireland is in breach of the World Health Organization s International Health Regulations (IHR) on contagious disease control by failing to designate a competent authority at its ports and airports, according to documents seen by RTÉ News.
The documents also show that Ireland has been non-compliant for approximately a decade, despite high-level discussions on the issue between the Health Service Executive, Department of Health and Department of Transport.
Under the IHR a competent authority at points of entry must be designated to monitor the risk of dangerous contagious diseases entering the State.
Ireland has no such designated competent authority points of entry to the country.
IMCA publishes Decommissioning Principles in Relation to DISMANTLECON
The International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) has published ‘IMCA’s Decommissioning Principles in Relation to DISMANTLECON’ (IMCA CI 015) in line with the ‘IMCA Decommissioning Contracting Principles’ (IMCA CI007 Rev 2). This follows a detailed review of the text of DISMANTLECON by a working group established by the IMCA the Legal, Contracts, Insurance and Compliance (LCIC) Committee, who carefully studied both documents to verify that DISMANTLECON meets IMCA’s contracting principles.

A total of one thousand 44 undergrad and graduate students from eight different colleges are part of the graduating class.
Student speaker Darby Beyer says students graduating should be proud of what they’ve accomplished amid a very difficult year.
“We are now equipped to solve any problem thrown at us, past any test, succeed in our industry and smile through any amount of wind and snow,”says the NDSU Student speaker Darby Beyer.
