MnDOT’s multi-year Twin Ports Interchange project will enhance safety by eliminating blind merges and left exits, replacing aging infrastructure and improving freight mobility.

In addition, crews will make safety and infrastructure improvements to 51 multimodal projects, which are airport, port, transit and railroad projects that are outside of the state road construction program. Wednesday, Gov. Tim Walz and state leaders held a ceremony for Worker Memorial Day, remembering those who ve died on the job while bringing attention to workplace safety. Over the past year, workplace safety has taken on new meaning as essential workers put their lives on the line to support Minnesota through COVID-19, Walz said. Today we recommit ourselves to the hard work of ensuring that workplaces across Minnesota are safe, because every worker deserves to know that they will return safely at the end of every day. Target Field operators are looking for artists to offer ideas for new works to display in a prominent spot outside the Minnesota Twins ballpark.
The Minnesota Ballpark Authority (MBA) on Thursday agreed to spend up to $200,000 to solicit and hire artists to create one, two or possibly three pieces.
They re still working on the process, but the expectation is that the MBA will solicit proposals this summer for placement of the new art in time for the 2022 season.

In addition to repairing the bridge and adding a crossing for cyclists and pedestrians, MnDOT will build a new bridge inland of the existing one to carry southbound traffic, and add turning lanes at Betty’s Pies and County 3.
