Friends of the Library raises $8K for HCCPL

The Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library announced that The Friends of the Library organization raised over $8,000 for the library. The organization held its last in-person meeting in February of 2020. After that meeting, the COVID-19 pandemic hit. The pandemic led the organization to cancel in-person meetings, host programs and sponsored events. The group spent the year focusing on increasing membership and fundraising for the library. The group now has around 100 members. “(HCCPL) Executive Director, DeeAnna Sova, and her outstanding staff have worked hard to make that happen,” said FOL Chairperson Margaret McDonald. “The Friends organization is holding its first board meeting since the COVID outbreak on April 27, when it will vote on several proposed ways to assist the library in continuing its excellent service to our community.”
