As part of the International Women s Day, United States President Joe Biden announced the nomination of two women generals for promotion to four-star posts. The President hailed the two nominees as outstanding and eminently qualified warriors and patriots.
The nominations of Gen. Jacqueline D. Van Ovost, of the Air Force, and Lt. Gen. Laura J. Richardson, of the Army, will now be sent up to the Senate for approval.

WASHINGTON â President Biden has nominated two female generals to elite, four-star commands, the Defense Department announced, months after their Pentagon bosses had agreed on their promotions but held them back out of fears that President Donald J. Trump would reject the officers because they were women.

Malta received 297 requests for military or official state planes to enter Maltese airspace during last year, said Minister for Foreign Affairs Evarist Bartolo. The Minister said that there were 122 requests made with the Directorate of Protocol for planes requesting to land in Malta.
Minister Bartolo was answering to Carmelo Mifsud Bonnici PN MP, Parliamentary Question. The MP in a separate question asked about military naval vessels or official state vessels requesting to enter Malta during 2020.
The Minister said that according to the Directorate of Protocol, Malta had received 26 requests from foreign states for their Military or State vessels to enter Malta.
