PINELLAS COUNTY , Fla. â The Pinellas County School Board is set to discuss a new agreement with law enforcement officers at a workshop on Tuesday.
The agreement is between the school board, the Pinellas County Sheriffâs Office, and law enforcement from surrounding municipalities.
The district says the new proposal is supposed to establish new guidelines for how they handle misconduct of students and adults.
School leaders say the purpose of the new agreement is to combine the existing ones and add new elements required by the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Act laws.
Sarasota County senior assistant named sheriff s general counsel
SARASOTA COUNTY Crystal Bailey, a senior assistant general counsel at the Sarasota County Sheriff s Office, has been promoted to general counsel following Col. Kurt Hoffman s election as sheriff last fall.

Clay County Schools guardian arrested for cocaine possession

MIDDLEBURG, Fla. – A Clay County District Schools guardian has been charged and arrested for possession of cocaine.
Clay County Sheriff’s Office said began investigating after receiving received a tip that Douglas Charles Batchelder was using illegal drugs. Deputies searched Batchelder’s vehicle on campus at Middleburg High School after a CCSO K9 sniffed for the presence of illegal drugs. They found a brown wallet that contained a white substance in the driver’s side door of Batchelder’s vehicle. The substance field-tested positive for cocaine.
