Opinions on what is appropriate for children have been left divided after Denmark released a new children’s TV show about a man with a giant penis.
John Dillermand, which literally translates to ‘penis man’ in Danish slang, is an animated series aimed at four-to-eight-year-olds which chronicles the life of a man who has “the world’s longest penis”.
The show made its debut on DR Ramasjang, a Danish television channel owned by DR targeting children aged 7–10. The debut episode of the controversial series saw John Dillermand floating over the city after an array of helium balloons accidentally became attached to his private parts.

According to CNN, the animated show features “a man with a penis so massive and flexible it can save children from danger, fetch objects from a river and operate as a pogo stick.”

Jacob Ley apparently came up with John Dillermand, the eponymous character of his animated children s TV series, when making up bedtime stories to tell his own kids. Dillermand, which roughly translates as penis-man , is “a middle-aged man with a prehensile penis that can extend to the length of several metres,” says the IMDB blurb. That unusual trait, as you can imagine, opens the floodgates to plenty of antics and challenges; as one of the episode’s description reads: “It often gets him in trouble and it can get really embarrassing, but when he stands by the fact that he is different, he can save children, babies and cars and even hoist the flag – with the diller. In fact, he can save the whole world if only he were allowed to.”
