Three facing drug charges in Martin County

Three people in Martin County face drug charges Thursday morning after deputies with the Martin County Sheriff’s Office said they found drugs while performing a search warrant at a home. Joshua Mills, 34, from Pilgrim is facing charges of first-degree trafficking in meth and first-degree possession of meth. Joshua Moore, 23, from Pilgrim is facing charges of second-degree possession of a controlled substance. Ray Mills Jr., 46, also from Pilgrim, is facing charges of first-degree possession of meth. Deputies said Joshua Mills was sitting in the driver’s seat of a car when deputies arrived to perform the search warrant. While performing the search warrant, police said deputies found a black zip bag containing baggies, a large bag of meth, a small scale and a small pink bag with a crystal-like substance inside a coat pocket.

Deputies recovered the body just after 5 p.m. in mangroves near 126 North Sewall s Point Road. Investigators said it appears the victim may have been in the water for up to a week. They are asking the public s help identifying the person. The victim is a white man between the age of 30 and 60 years of age, approximately 5-foot-11 and weighs about 144 pounds. He has a white, stubble beard and was wearing khaki knee-length pants, a gray long sleeve shirt with a white compression shirt underneath. The compression shirt has a blue-striped design.

He said he’d dropped off the paint at the paint counter to have it mixed and, rather than wait, went to other parts of the store to get items he needed. He said he then checked out and remembered the paint when he was finished. He said he then went back inside, got the paint, made a phone call and became so engrossed that he walked out without paying. The paint was worth over $45. The store decided not to prosecute and instead had police issue him a one-year trespass warning.
