Dr. Michael Good, an anaesthesiologist and current head of the University of Utah Health, will take over as the U’s interim president in April.
The Utah System of Higher Education has appointed Dr. Michael Good to lead the University of Utah as its interim president.
Good came to the university in 2018. He currently serves as the CEO of University of Utah Health, dean of the medical school and senior vice president of health sciences at the U.
Chris Nelson, the U’s communications director, said with Good’s other responsibilities, and a deep bench of administrative support, his interim role will largely be as a liaison between the university and state leaders, as well as the chief spokesperson for the university.

The Michigan State Board of Trustees will hold their second meeting of the semester at 8 a.m. on Friday via Zoom.
Following a report by President Samuel L. Stanley Jr. and public participation, Interim Vice President Douglas Gage will present the Gift, Grant and Contract Report for the approval of the board. This comprises 767 gifts, grants and contracts in addition to 11 consignment/non-cash gifts totaling over $193 million for the period of Aug. 14, 2020 through Nov. 16, 2020.
In fiscal year 2020-21, gifts, grants, contracts and consignments totaled over $375 million.

EAST LANSING, MI Michigan State University has chosen Marlon Lynch to serve as the university’s next chief of police.
Lynch, an MSU alum who has worked in law enforcement for nearly 25 years, will also hold the title of vice president for public safety, a university release states. MSU’s Board of Trustees will vote on Lynch’s appointment on Feb. 12, and his expected start date is Feb. 1, according to the release.
