Wheeling-Ohio County Health Department Officials Announce Two New COVID-19 Deaths | News, Sports, Jobs

From STAFF REPORTS The Wheeling-Ohio County Health Department reported two more COVID-related deaths in the county in its Tuesday night update. There now have been 64 such deaths in Ohio County since the pandemic began. The department also reported six new positive COVID-19 cases, bringing that total to 3,574. The Marshall County Health Department reported 14 new confirmed positive COVID cases and eight new probable cases. That brings that county’s totals to 2,215 confirmed cases, 590 probable cases, eight hospitalizations and 58 associated deaths. Marshall County was the only county among the four in the Northern Panhandle to remain red, the highest-risk category, on the Department of Health and Human Resources Tuesday COVID-19 alert map. Hancock, Brooke and Ohio counties all were orange, a step above red on the category list.

Bureau, Putnam & Marshall County Health Departments report a COVID-19 death in Putnam County

  The Bureau, Putnam & Marshall County Health Departments regret to report the Covid-19 related death of a Putnam County male in his 60’s. This brings the total number of Covid-19 related deaths in the Bureau, Putnam & Marshall County Health Departments’ service area to eighty-eight. There have been seventy-two Covid-19 related deaths in Bureau County, thirteen in Marshall County and three in Putnam County. “On behalf of the entire staff at the Bureau, Putnam and Marshall County Health Departments, I extend our deepest sympathy to the family and friends of this victim of Covid-19.” Said Hector Gomez, Administrator of the BPMHCD. “Despite the progress of the Covid-19 vaccination process, we continue to need everyone’s cooperation in order to further reduce the spread of this disease until medical interventions become widely available. The only way to accomplish that is to follow the guidelines.”

Grand Vue Park Enters Partnership on Aerial Adventures | News, Sports, Jobs

JIM COCHRAN The Marshall County Park and Recreation Board along with the leadership team at Grand Vue Park announced this past week that the park has entered into a partnership with Applied Adventure Consulting, which will allow the company to operate and manage all of the aerial adventures at the park. The new partnership will begin this spring. According to park General Manager Craig White, the team at Applied Adventure is comprised of professionals who have helped to shape the zip line, ropes course and aerial adventure industry since the early 2000s. Their work has included managing aerial adventure parks in California and North Carolina.
