ALEXANDRIA, VA Alexandria claimed a place on WalletHub s 2021 Most Diverse Cities in the U.S. list. To determine the most diverse cities, WalletHub looked at 501 of the most populated cities in the U.S., with each state limited to up to 10 cities each. Cities were evaluated based on five key dimensions: socioeconomic diversity, cultural diversity, household diversity and religious diversity. There were 13 metrics for the five dimensions graded on a 100-point scale, with 100 representing the most diversity.

Montgomery County Shines in WalletHub’s ‘Most Diverse Cities in America’ Report Three Montgomery County cities were ranked within the top 15 of WalletHub’s report, “2021’s Most Diverse Cities in America” with Gaithersburg at #6, Silver Spring at #7 and Germantown at #12. According to WalletHub, the report is the final installment of their diversity study series, where they determined the final list through combining household diversity and religious diversity with their previous reports on socioeconomic diversity, cultural diversity and economic diversity. The scores were tallied across these five categories for 501 of the largest cities across 13 metrics. In the “Socioeconomic Diversity” category alone, Montgomery County topped the charts with Silver Spring ranked #1, Gaithersburg ranked #2 and Germantown ranked #18. In the “Cultural Diversity” category, Gaithersburg ranked #2, Germantown ranked #3 and Silver Spring ranked #5.

Ipswich artist to project award-winning shot at festival

Premium Content Subscriber only A PORTRAIT photographer whose images will display on the side of an iconic Ipswich building said a chance meeting with a local couple revolutionised his work. Jason McNamara is one of 11 Ipswich artists whose work will be included in the deLight event as part of re-imagined Ipswich Festival, SPARK Ipswich. During the 11 days of the festival, artworks by the artists will be projected on the side of St Mary’s Church. Jason, whose portraiture has won awards across the country, said a picture he shot in 2018 would fit the display. The portrait won the Stanthorpe Art Prize in 2018 and is of an elderly couple in their kitchen.
