Toyota’s all-new 2021 Kluger large SUV is getting ready to launch in Australia in June, and the local arm has just confirmed the full lineup details and prices.
The all-new Kluger is more stylish, technologically advanced, safer and more fuel efficient than any previous Kluger model. Buyers will be able to choose from three main variant levels, from the GX, GXL, and Grande. All of these will be available in front- and all-wheel drive with a 3.5-litre petrol V6, as well as a new hybrid setup available in all-wheel drive only, but in all three grades.
Powering the new hybrid is a 2.5-litre, four-cylinder petrol unit that is accompanied by two front-mounted electric motors and one at the rear. Overall, Toyota says it is good for 184kW of power (combined), and offers a fuel consumption of 5.6L/100km on the combined cycle, emitting 128g/km of CO2 emissions.

Fourth-generation seven-seat SUV brings more space, tech, safety and a hybrid option – for a price
When the new 2021 Toyota Kluger finally arrives in showrooms in June, it will be available in three trim grades and nine variants (up from six), thanks to the addition of the first hybrid version – which is expected to account for up to 70 per cent of sales.
But Toyota’s fourth-generation seven-seat large SUV will also be considerably more expensive, with a starting price of $47,650 plus on-road costs announced today – up $2800 from its previous entry price of $44,850 plus ORCs.

The seventh-generation Lexus ES is a bold looker, something that’s underscored by a twist in the form of the F-Sport option. The package shifts this roomy sedan from the luxury side of the ledger towards the sport-luxury side. New for 2021 is my tester, the ES 250.
Lexus last used the 250 designation in 1991. After a 30-year absence, it returns with a four-cylinder engine and all-wheel-drive, and the latter is a first for the ES. The format sees it slide under the V6-powered ES 350 and ES 300h hybrid models, both of which are front-drive units.
