NEW DELHI: BMW India on Thursday launched the 3 Series Gran Limousine starting at an introductory price of Rs 51.50 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The 3 GL is assembled and produced in BMW’s plant in Chennai and is a long-wheelbase version of the popular 3 Series. The 3 GL is available in three trim lines.
320Ld Luxury Line: Rs 51.50 lakh
330Li Luxury Line: Rs 52.50 lakh
330Li M Sport ‘first’ edition: Rs 53.90 lakh
The 3 Series Gran Limousine sits under the 5 Series in the BMW portfolio and will compete with the likes of Audi A4, Mercedes C-Class, Jaguar XE and Volvo S60.

Locally-produced at BMW Group Plant Chennai exclusively for the Indian market, the car is available in both petrol and diesel variants at all BMW India dealerships from today onwards.
The long-wheelbase Gran Limousine is a new addition to the BMW 3 Series family. It is the long-wheelbase version of the highly successful BMW 3 Series. It has been launched in India considering the clientele s preference for long sedans. The new BMW 3 Series Gran Limousine takes on the position of the longest, most spacious and comfortable car in its segment and sets a new benchmark in the class. BMW s newest car in the country is an extended form of the 3 series sedan, called the 3 series Gran Limousine. India is the first right hand drive market anywhere in the world to get the car and of course the focus here is on the extra space inside the cabin, specifically for people in the rear seat. It replaces the 3GT in the BMW India line-up and when it comes to wheelbase it is longer than the regular 3 series by a good 110 mm. I spent some time behind the wheel of the car and on the second row as well so get a first hand feel of just how different is the 3GL when compared to the regular 3 series sedan.
