CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - An organization that has received millions of dollars in taxpayer funds in order to recruit teachers in South Carolina is drawing criticism from the state treasurer.
Curtis Loftis says Teach For America is a âfinancial boondoggleâ for Palmetto State taxpayers, citing a new report from the South Carolina Office of Inspector General that states that the group has received $23 million worth of state funding since 2012.
