The Maldives Police on Saturday arrested two individuals in connection with the blast in which former president Mohamed Nasheed suffered injuries. Two individuals have been arrested in connection to May 6 terror attack. More information will be shared in a press briefing this afternoon, Maldives Police tweeted.
On Friday, the Maldives Police said the blast that injured former president Mohamed Nasheed was a deliberate act of terror . In a statement, the police said that all necessary resources available and forensic teams are being utilised to aid the investigation of the blast that took place in Neelaofary Hingum.

Former Maldives president Mohamed Nasheed is conscious after life-saving surgery, his family said on Saturday, as police made two arrests in connection with the bomb blast that left him critically injured.
The bomb went off as Mr Nasheed, the president of the ruling Maldivian Democratic Party and the current parliament speaker, was leaving his family home in the capital Male on Thursday.
Police said they had arrested two people in connection with the blast, which they said was being treated as a terror attack, but gave no further details.
Mr Nasheed, 53, underwent 16 hours of surgery to remove shrapnel from his lungs, liver, chest, abdomen and limbs.

Male, May 8 (EFE).- Maldives police Saturday arrested two suspects for their possible role in an explosion that wounded former president Mohamed Nasheed who is recuperating in a Male hospital.
“Two individuals have been arrested in connection (with the) May 6 terror attack,” Maldives Police tweeted.
Nasheed, 53, currently the parliament speaker, was critically wounded in the IED blast on Thursday afternoon.
The former president underwent multiple surgeries at a private hospital in the capital.
He is in stable condition and recovering, family members said.
The blast also wounded three of his bodyguards and two civilians, including a British citizen.
