Former City Councilor Marty Justus was removed from an Ontario City Council meeting on May 18, following his public comments, and the request of a current councilor to review what was written on the signs. Justus has been attending council meetings with his signs for the past several meetings.
Councilor John Kirby called for the point of order, asking to clarify what actions would constitute a disruption by an audience member and warrant being censured by the meetingâs âpresiding officer,â who is the mayor, as it pertained to potentially slanderous remarks being presented by Justus.
âMr. Justus is now communicating with the council, he needs to stop or be removed from this council,â stated Kirby.
ONTARIO â The former head of human resources of Fry Foods who was facing nearly 20 felony charges in Malheur County after allegedly embezzling $70,000 from the companyâs Ontario and Weiser facilities and 13 federal charges, has pleaded guilty to some of those charges.
According to a news release from the U.S. Attorney - District of Idahoâs office on Tuesday, Douglas Wold pleaded guilty to one count each of wire fraud, mail fraud and money laundering based on his schemes to defraud his employer âduring the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.â
Wire fraud and mail fraud carry a penalty of up to 20 years in federal prison, a maximum fine of $250,000 and up to three years of supervised release. The penalty for money laundering is up to 10 years in federal prison, a maximum fine of $250,000 and up to three years of supervised release.

BOISE Douglas Wold, 48, of Meridian, pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud, one count of mail fraud and one count of money laundering based on schemes to defraud his employer, Fry Foods, Inc., during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, announced Acting U.S. Attorney Rafael M. Gonzalez, Jr., today. Sentencing is set for Aug. 27, before Chief U.S. District Judge David C. Nye at the federal courthouse in Boise.

Police are investigating a kidnapping that occurred early this morning in the parking lot of a recreational marijuana dispensary in Ontario.
Argus Observer reporters heard a police dispatcher at about 9:25 a.m. tell police that the incident happened at about 6:30 a.m. to an employee, who was reportedly safe in Payette and wanted to report the incident.
Ontario Police Department Sgt. Grimaldo responded to an email request about information this afternoon, saying officers responded at about 9:25 a.m. to Burnt River Farms regarding the report.
He said that through their initial investigation, officers learned the victim, a woman, was in the parking lot when âshe was approached by an adult male suspect who forced her to drive outside city limits.â
