WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A U.S. appeals court on Wednesday suspended Rudy Giuliani, a former attorney for ex-President Donald Trump, from practicing law in Washington, D.C.
The District of Columbia Court of Appeals issued the order citing the suspension of Giuliani’s New York law license two weeks ago after a court found he had lied in arguing that the 2020 presidential election was stolen from Trump.

Less than two weeks after his law license was suspended in New York as a result of the lies he peddled in a bid to subvert the 2020 election on former President Trump’s behalf, Rudy Giuliani was dealt another blow with his suspension from practicing law in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday.

The District of Columbia Court of Appeals has suspended
Rudy Giuliani‘s license to practice law in the nation’s capital city.
The move was announced in a two-page order of the court on Wednesday.
The order says the D.C. court system received a “certified copy” of New York’s recent decision to also suspend Giuliani’s law license in the Empire State. The New York decision triggered D.C. Bar Rule XI, § 11(d), the court noted. That rule, which is common among lawyer licensing jurisdictions, involves “reciprocal discipline.” In other words, when an attorney is in trouble in one jurisdiction, he is in trouble in all of them, as the cited rule points out:
