Health Minister K.K. Shylaja on Tuesday inaugurated completed works amounting to ₹5.9 crore under various projects at the Neyyattinkara General Hospital through a videoconferencing event.
Inaugurating the new facilities, she said there had been a sharp jump in the number of people depending on government hospitals with the improvement in infrastructure there.
The facilities that were inaugurated at the hospital include two new pay wards, trauma care, solar power plant, medicine storage centre, HT sub station, generator, toilet block, ICU, renovated operation theatre, and hospital canteen.

100 persons to be immunised every day at each of the 11 centres in district
As many as 1,19,500 doses of the Covishield vaccine manufactured by Serum Institute of India, Pune, reached Kozhikode district on Wednesday.
According to the Health Department, they were despatched by a special vehicle from the Nedumbassery airport in the morning. They were taken to the regional vaccine store at Malaparamba in the city by 4 p.m. T. Mohandas, District Reproductive and Child Health Officer, received the vaccine.
