BUAH WORPLUKEN, Grand Kru County – Liberia’s Deputy Speaker Grand Kru County District #2 Representative Cllr. J. Fonati on Saturday broke grounds for the construction of the Sally A. Togbabou Elementary School in Buah Wropluken, Grand Kru County.

Ninety six foreign employees flew from Saudi Arabia, Oman, Jordan, Qatar, Lebanon, Italy, Dubai, Korea, Bahrain, Germany, Mozambique, Abudhabi and Singapore set off to their homes after completing a two-week quarantine at the Vasavilan Quarantine Centre in Jaffna on Tuesday.
They appreciated the commitment and dedication of the Army troops at the Centre. They were provided with transport to reach their destinations in Pelmadulla, Badulla, Pottuvil, Matara, Wattala and Mahiyanganaya. They were also provided with meals, snacks, water bottle, before commencing their journey.
The quarantine was conducted by the troops of the Jaffna Security Forces under the supervision of Jaffna Security Forces Commander and District Coordinator -COVID-19 Control and Prevention in Jaffna Major General Priyantha Perera with the guidance of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID

A rise in deaths from severe malnutrition in Balaka district during the first quarter of the year has worried authorities calling for concerted efforts to address the problem.
Balaka Principal Nutrition and HIV/Aids Officer, Lucious Njobvu, says nine under 5 children died of severe malnutrition between January and March this year, higher than one child who died same period last year 2020.
Njobvu says food insecurity and shifting all efforts to Covid 19 pandemic neglecting other health challenges are some of the factors contributing to the increase.
