Education Minister Adimulapu Suresh on Wednesday directed department officials and staff to strictly comply with the COVID-19 guidelines while making arrangements for Intermediate examinations, scheduled from May 5.
In a video conference attended by Joint Collectors, Regional Intermediate Officers, District Education Officers and other officials, the Minister said the decision to go ahead with the conduct of the exam was taken keeping in view the future of the students.
The practical exams had already been completed. Now for the theory exam, a total of 10,32,469 students would appear for the exam at 1,452 examination centres in the State. Of them, 5,12959 are from the first year while 5,19,510 are second year students. A COVID Protocol Officer would be posted at every exam centre and every centre would have a separate room for students showing symptoms of the virus infection.

Telangana declares summer holidays for schools from April 27 to May 31 as Covid-19 cases surge
On Sunday, Telangana recorded 8,126 new Covid-19 cases, the highest ever single day spike in the number of infections.

HYDERABAD: Keeping in view the rapidly rising number of Covid-19 cases in the state, the Telangana government has declared summer vacations for all schools and junior colleges in the state from April 27 till May 31.
An official communication informing about the same was relayed on Sunday to all Regional Joint Directors of School Education and District Education Officers by the Director of School Education, Syed Omar Jaleel and directing them to take necessary action.

As part of an effort to lay the foundation for the enhancement of quality education in the country, the Ministry of Education (MOE) with support from the World Bank, has launched what it terms as the ‘renovation and rehabilitation of all public senior high schools across Liberia.
The launch is being made possible through a US$42 million World Bank grant for the improvement of the physical environment of Senior Secondary Schools in Liberia.
During the official launch of the event in Margibi County, the Minister of Education, D. Ansu Sonii, Sr., disclosed that most of the supports given by partners to the education sector in Liberia since the 1960s have been mainly directed towards Early Childhood (ECE) and Basic Education levels, leaving Secondary Education with little or no support with the hope that when the ECE and Basic education levels are sound and good, the senior secondary will also be good.
Board exam schedule to be out 15 days in advance

AAA The Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE) in Tamil Nadu has said that Class 12 students would be intimated about the fresh schedule for their public exams at least 15 days before they are to begin.
In a circular, the DGE has instructed all Chief Educational Officers and District Educational Officers to inform school heads in their jurisdiction about the postponement of the exams as announced by the State government on Sunday.
The students are currently taking their practical exams and are expected to complete them by the end of this week.
