The third batch of 41 persons with disability (PWDs) in the Asuogyaman District in the Eastern Region have received various items distributed to them through the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF).
The items include vegetables, provisions, table-top fridges, industrial sewing machines, manual sewing machines, hair dryers, agro-chemicals, cement, fishing nets, as well as capital to start their businesses.
International Day
The items were presented to the PWDs on the occasion of this year’s International Day of Persons with Disabilities, which is observed worldwide to promote the understanding of issues regarding disability and mobilise support for their sustenance and well-being.

The Korle Klottey Municipal Assembly (KoKMA) has distributed items worth GH¢80,000 to 33 Persons with Disability (PWDs) at a ceremony in Accra.
The beneficiaries received items such as deep freezers, electric sewing machines, provisions, hair dryers, refrigerators, bags of charcoal, printing machines, mobile credit cards, among others.
Being the second to be organised this year, the presentation was from the three per cent allocation to the PWDs from the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF).
Disbursement
At the ceremony to disburse the items, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the assembly, Mr. Samuel Nii Adjei Tawiah, said the move was in fulfilment of the government s responsibility to support PWDs in the country as stipulated in the constitution.
