Valediction of 32nd National Road Safety Month-2021 held across Kashmir

  Srinagar: Series of activities to raise awareness among the masses with respect to road safety marked the culmination of National Road Safety Month-2021 themed ‘Sadak Suraksha Jeevan Raksha’ across all the districts of Kashmir. On the occasion, Valediction function was held at Srinagar and at all the districts to observe the conclusion of the month long awareness drive that was kick started on 18 January, 2021. During this period, a number of activities including debates, quiz, essay and painting competitions, distribution of pamphlets and print material, blood donation camp, fitness mela, walkathon, rallies to raise mass awareness among the drivers and the public about road safety norms besides health check up camps were conducted by the Regional Transport Authority, Kashmir and Astt. Regional Transport Offices of all the districts.

Maiden Mahila Jan Sunwai Held In Srinagar

(MENAFN - Kashmir Observer) SRINAGAR- To listen to the complaints of the women of Kashmir Valley, who have been victims of domestic violence, a first ever Mahila Jan Sunwai Programme was held at Banquet Hall here today. The proceedings of the Jan Sunwai programme were conducted under the chairmanship of Chairperson National Commission for Women (NCW), Rekha Sharma. Counselor, NCW was also present on the occasion. The programme was organized by the National Commission for Women (NCW) in collaboration with the State Resource Centre for Women, Department of Social Welfare J & K. During the Sunwai, as many as 85 cases pertaining to different complaints filed by women of different parts of Kashmir division were heard by the Chairperson NCW. On the occasion, 12 accused were presented in person before the Chairperson during Jansunwai on the spot to mitigate the cases, while rest of cases were taken up with the concerned authorities for their time bound disposal.
